Yet, as Smith Wigglesworth famously said, “You cannot offend a man who is led by the Holy Spirit because he is not led by his emotions. He’s led by God.” When we let go of our expectations and trust in God’s timing, we open ourselves to the peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). This doesn’t mean we won’t feel disappointed at times, but it does mean we choose to surrender our will to God’s perfect plan, knowing He works all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
